How to Download A PSP Song from CDs

You can have as many songs as you want on your PSP without spending a fortune. In fact, you'll pay more for the memory cards on which to store your music than you'll pay for the music itself. Especially if you already have music files on your computer or you plan to transfer music from CDs you already own. You can download a PSP song no matter where you get the song once it is on your computer.
The great thing about being able to download a PSP song from your CDs is that you can customize your music this way and only use the tracks that you like. If you don't already have one, you'll need what is called a CD Ripper. This is a program that will copy the music from your CD onto your computer. Then once it is on your computer, you'll need an audio converter to transfer the music files onto your PSP.
Using Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player 10 will rip the music off of your CDs. You can either choose which tracks to rip or burn in the first place or rip all of them to keep on your computer and then transfer only the ones you really want on your PSP. From here, there are a couple of different ways you can download a PSP song.
For one thing, included with the release of the 2.6 version of Firmware, which is the operating system for the PSP, includes the capability for the PSP to play WMA files. These are the kind of music files you will have once Windows Media Player 10 rips the music off of your CDs. In the past, the PSP only played MP3 music files and so at this point the WMA files would have to be converted to MP3 files. But now, you no longer have to convert these files in order to download a PSP song.
Converting From WMA To MP3
If you have not upgraded to the 2.6 version of Firmware for the PSP, you can still do so, however your PSP will have to connect to the internet to do so. As this article does not address that issue, let's look at converting those WMA files to MP3 files. At this point, you need an audio converter to convert the files to the acceptable format so that you can download a PSP song.
You can Google and search for free audio conversion software or you can certainly purchase that software. You can also purchase Sony's Media Manager software for 19.95 for the download or 29.95 for the package. Whether you purchase audio conversion software or obtain it for free, this is just one more step in the process that will enable you to download a PSP song.
