Protect Your Investment
Don't let your PSP get broken or wet by neglecting to keep it in a PSP carrying case. Many of these are made to actually attach to your PSP. For example, the Kroo carrying case comes with 2 screws with which to attach to your PSP. They also come in bright colors as well as basic black. This case is a form-fitting design that wraps your PSP in faux but beautiful leather. It is smart looking and smart to protect your investment with a PSP carrying case.
Amazon.com has a PSP carrying case on their website. It comes with a cleaning cloth for $9.98 but it is really hard to see any detail. The case is black but that's all you can see is a square of black without any detail at all.
Regardless of which PSP carrying case you choose, do choose to get one. Carrying it in your hands just won't protect it. Imagine carrying it on a crowded airplane. It wouldn't be hard at all to drop it or knock it on something nearby after someone inadvertently pushed against you. At least if it is encased in a protective covering you have a much better chance of it surviving the bump or fall.
Prevent Theft
Another good reason to keep your game console in a PSP carrying case is it would be hard to remove from the case in a hurry if someone was trying to steal it. That is, if it is in one of those cases that attach to the PSP with screws. It might be a little more difficult getting that in a pocket than it would if there were no case.
The LCD screens on the PSP are not unbreakable. It doesn't take a whole lot of force to break this kind of glass. Unless it is defective when you first get the PSP, this kind of breakage is not covered under the PSP warranty.
The Body Glove Game Suit is another PSP carrying case that is advertised online to protect your PSP. This one is black and promises to fit your PSP like a glove. While there is no mention of screws with which to attach it, the picture does show a sleek, smooth fit. It also features a flap that folds over and serves as a stand for video watching.
You don't want to use something that doesn't fit as a PSP carrying case. Although you may be tempted to use a backpack or something larger to hold all your PSP accessories, by doing so you run the risk of your PSP bouncing around inside the bag and breaking.
