Games on the UMD
You know how to play PSP games. However, do you realize all the different ways you can play them? Perhaps the most widely known PSP game playing option is the UMD disk that goes into the PSP and is the only tangible media that the PSP game comes to us on. You can save your game progress by using a Memory Stick PRO Duo memory card and you and your games can live happily ever after.
While we're talking about the UMD disk, you can also play the PSP game disks with another person whether they are across town or across the country or even across the globe. Now, the nifty part is that they or you as the case may be, do not have to have the game. Only one of the two people playing has to have the UMD disk in order for both people to play the game. This is called game sharing and if you're not already taking advantage of this, you might want to check out this PSP game playing option.
There is something you should realize about game sharing though. When you play in this mode, two very specific things happen: the load time for the game is very, very slow and the bonus features will not be available during game sharing mode. Also, whoever does not have the copy of the game will lose the game once there PSP is turned off. Other than all that, it's great!
You can also play multiplayer games with the PSP. With the internet capability of the PSP, as many as 16 players can come together in cyber space and play the PSP game. All of these gamers have to be in range of each other and have to be online through a wireless "hot spot."
Download PSP Games
Now, for my favorite PSP game playing option: The download! I like to play games from sites I can download from simply because it gives me a chance to try before I buy. Sure, I pay a modest subscription fee but even that is not as much as one PSP game on the UMD disk. Not only can I download games, I can also download movies and music.
There are also some PSP games, Daniel Negreanu's Stacked to name one, that will interact with the PS2, meaning you can play against someone who is playing this game on the PS2 instead of on the PSP.
Everyone has their favorite PSP game playing options. That's what makes this little gadget so interesting - there is no one right way to be a PSP gamer. Just play!
