This may sound like a silly question but if you don't know your PSP like I know my Sony PSP, you're missing out on something.
Games
Let's start with the birth of all the PlayStations. Games, games and more games. You can buy these games on Sony's proprietary UMD disks. You can save your game progress by using a Memory Stick Pro Duo. You can play a game with a friend across town or across the globe - even if they don't have the same game. It's called game sharing and if you don't know about this, you'll want to learn.
One of the best aspects of game-playing on the Sony PSP is the fact that you can download games to your PC first and then on to your PSP. You can do this through subscription sites such as pspblender.com and others. In this way, you can play a variety of games without having to buy them all.
Music
With the Sony PSP you can now have all your favorite tunes at your fingertips, in your car and by your side on an out-of-town trip. Whether you want to copy your CDs to your PSP or download music from the internet, you can do both. They go to your computer first and then download onto your PSP. There is specific software you can either buy or get for free to convert these music files into the kind of files the Sony PSP accepts.
Movies
Ok, so now we've got a game player and an MP3 player all wrapped up into one in the Sony PSP. Now let's add what amounts to a portable DVD player. This one, however, does much more than a portable DVD player ever could. With the PSP, you can download not only movies, but TV shows and all kinds of video clips from the internet. Many are for free and some only charge a nominal fee.
You can also put your home videos on your PSP. What a way to show off the kids! There is also video conversion software that will help you convert the DVDs you already have to movie files on your PSP. Keep in mind however, you are actually storing all of this media on a Memory Stick Pro Duo and that is an expense that can add up. It's up to you though, you can keep only the most important video files on your PSP or you can contact Guinness and let them know where to send your trophy.
More
There is still so much more to the Sony PSP. There's an internet browser, a place to store your photos and now, an add-on camera is set to be released July 2006. If you aren't familiar with all the fun you can have with your Sony PSP, spend some time getting to know it. You may be surprised at what you've been missing.
